CORe Digest
October 25th 2007
The C This episode of the Digest is brought to you by moooooo! Rockies: 0 That's all I'll say on that issue. You may recall that last week, I put out a request for parents who read the Digest to send in shout outs to be published in this week's edition of the Digest. I kept track of them all week and compiled some data on the response. Here is a figure showing how the responses broke down.
Re Digest
Red Sox: 1
You may notice some disturbing trends in these data. For one, it seems that only Matt Crawford's mom reads the Digest. This suggests that parent readership is down since last year, when Mike Taylor's mom also read the Digest. Also, the data suggests that Excel 2007 makes some of the prettiest graphs around, which is rather scary.
Now, the Digest has a few things that are probably working to keep down the parent readership. With the recent redesign on Olin's main page, all of the past issues of Olin's glossy newsletter, Innovations are available online. Some of the old issues are pretty interesting, going into depth about Olin's vision and early activities, with articles titled "Olin Pursues Guinness Record for Device" and "Olin Designs and Tests New Courses". Additionally, we face stiff competition from the weekly aimed-at-off-campus newsletter, The Link. Plus, they have the budget to give away trivia prizes. How can we compete with free stuff?
Anyway, the crux of the matter is we need more parents to read the CORe Digest. If you don't forward this to five parents in the next ten minutes, you'll have bad luck for the next ten years. If you forward it to at least ten parents then your crush will tell you that they like you tonight! And if you forward it to twenty or more parents, MySpace will close forever! They don't even necessarily have to be your parents, but don't send it to parents who will get angry at you for it. That's just rude.
And if your parents are in the area, invite them to come see the FWOP show during its last two shows! Just look at these rave reviews!
I laughed out loud through the whole show. Thoroughly loved it. A must-see! Congrats to the cast and crew! - Tiana
Excellent performance, fast shipping, well packed, recommended. AAA+++ -Joe Student
The last two shows are Friday (right before the SAC dance!) and Saturday night! If you go on Friday, your ticket works again until Saturday! And the show is right in the Auditorium! Could it get any more convenient? No, not unless they performed the play directly in your room, and your room doesn't seat enough people, now does it?
Also, CORe Mini-Minutes are now posted to the CORe website every week. If you don't want to read the full minutes, check the CORe website for short weekly updates!
Double also, if you're interested in finding out about the presentation given by the Freshmen Class Reps about ICB, the 2010 Class Reps got their hands on a copy that you can find here if you're on campus.
