CORe Digest
April 13th 2007
Dear Students, OMG teh Digest has b33n hax0red!!1!one! Friday the 13th. You thought you were finally free of Chris Dellin. You figured, he was replaced yesterday, so he's not VPC any more.
Didn't we elect someone else? Someone new, someone better, someone younger? Where is Greg Marra???? I survived for 12 hours after Greg was elected. 12 hours. Then I started getting a little antsy.
Started shaking. I couldn't take it. No more Digests? All that power? Not possible! Therefore, I have wrestled control of
CORe from the Executive Board. The following are now in place:
So, where were we? Right, the brand spankin' new E-Board:
Tiana Veldwisch (President) has been spotted lurking around Olin's campus
disguised as a flamingo. Her trademark weapons include hugs and candy, and she is
considered very dangerous. She looks forward to adding glitter to all future CORe
Constitutional Amendments and plans to begin GA meetings with everyone doing 20 pushups.
Jeff Moore (Vice President, Student Initiatives) goes by the code name Easter Bunny
and has been stealing candy from babies all week long. Behind his enthusiasm, he harbors a deep loathing
for all things good in the world. His first initiative on E-Board will be a policy against fun,
so look forward to that.
Anthony Roldan (Vice President, Campus Life) is a smooth operator.
He has been known to carry a concealed burrito at all times and has disarmed helpless victims with a glance.
He plans to hold the next CCO meeting in Las Vegas, where your club allocation will be the luck of the dice.
Stefan Wolpert (Vice President, Finance and Records) may look like a
nice guy to you, but he stole that painting from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. His signature style
includes seduction with jazz piano followed by a drink laced with arsenic. He is ready to begin cooking the
books in red wine and serving them to you hot.
Greg Marra (Vice President, Communication) has left the state in hot
pursuit by the authorities. See below.
Who had somewhere in Atlanta to be
He was helping admissions
And ocassionally wishin'
He was chillin' under a palm tree
Hey everyone! I'm the new Vice President of Communications, which means that starting next week
I'll be the one sending out CORe Digests and otherwise keeping you posted on the going-ons of Olin.
I'm in Atlanta helping Admissions at the FIRST Robotics Championship Event right now, and the
forecast is 75 and sunny. I'll bring a postcard back with me, don't worry. As VP:C, I want to try
to encourage more communication between staff, faculty and students about big ideas here at Olin.
I also want to make it easier for everyone to get things accomplished, so keep your eyes open for
some helpful maps and super-concise versions of documents.
Anyway, enjoy the (real) last Chris Dellin
Digest, and don't forget to take your clothes out of the dryer!

Olin College students can now study away at one of Thailand's leading science and technology universities. King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) grants undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in the sciences, engineering, and multidisciplinary technologies. In addition to classes and potential research opportunities, many clubs and activities are available to introduce you to Thai culture. The University is located directly across the river from Bangkok in the neighborhood of Thonburi.
Our direct exchange with KMUTT begins in the fall. Olin College students wishing to spend a semester at KMUTT would not pay tuition, but would be responsible for room, board, and fees. Given the recent signing of this agreement, we are extending the study away deadline for this program until April 30. Please contact David Soo with any questions.

Leonard Bernstein, the great American composer, began the Festival of the Creative Arts at Brandeis University in 1952 to share the transformative power of art with the community. As the Festival enters its 55th year it is proud of its tradition of bringing the arts to the Waltham community. We hope to showcase the talent and creativity at Brandeis with interactive programming and first-class performers. We have both professional and student groups, with talents ranging from singing, to painting, to dance. We have Marionettes from Tanglewood, tap dancing workshops, and a new theater production by the Brandeis Theater Company to name just a few of the events! April 25th through 29th looks to be an incredible week and we hope you will join us for some or all of it. Most events are free and open to the public and all are wheelchair accessible. For more information and schedule go to http://www.brandeis.edu/arts/festival/.
