My Fellow Students,
Well, it seems that I am finally falling into the Olin tradition of getting the Digest out in the wee hours of the morning. There aren't too many Digest entries this week, so I've taken the liberty of writing a slightly longer intro with a bunch of different stuff thrown in. Let me know what you think!

However, If you are planning a purchase that must come from the New Initiatives Fund or might be considered controversial, you must submit the line item by this Sunday, May 7!

Submitting to the CORe Digest:
Ever wanted to be able to submit an item to the Digest quickly? Simply open this folder:

Then, drag the shortcut onto your Desktop, into your Start Menu or Toolbar, etc. Now, you're one click away from easy Digest submission.
That's about it for this week! Good luck with Finals to everyone, and keep the Digest feedback coming.

OSS: A Study of the International Justice Mission
A Christian Human Rights Organization
Come learn about a human rights organization that grew its budget to $7.8 million in 7 years. IJM just won a $5 million grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to create a model so others can follow their lead. The International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that rescues victims of violence, sexual exploitation, slavery, and oppression. How does Christianity factor in? What are their innovations? Are they effective? Should others adopt their model? Come hear about IJM.
Bubble Tea Study Break
Chinese Club is having a bubble tea study break May 8th from 9-11. Come hang out with the Chinese Club by the wooden waterfall and take a break from all that studying! Choose from several flavors (mango, lychee, green tea, taro, peach, and passion fruit) and have the option of tapioca!
Free Wellesley College Chamber Music Society Concert
This Saturday at 4pm the Wellesley College Chamber Music Society will be having a FREE concert in Pendleton Concert Salon (across the main lobby from Pendleton Atrium). I'm playing in a series of clarinet duets by Koechlin evoking the Brittany coast, and there will be plenty of other good stuff too. Harps and flutes, singers and violins, and even a harpsichord! If anyone needs a ride, email me. That's 4pm, this Saturday, May 6, 2006.
MPI Workshop still needs your help !
Read on! Short-term Summer Positions
The Twenty-Second Annual Mathematical Problems in Industry Workshop 2006 (MPI) (see
http://projects.olin.edu/mpi2006 for more information) will be held at Olin this year on June 12-16. This workshop starts with industrial presenters posing a problem that needs to be solved, and the remainder of the workshop is spent by the participants trying to solve them! We have one-week summer positions for students who are interested in being a part of this event and in helping to facilitate the workshop. These duties include helping orient the participants to Olin, getting reference materials (if needed) from MIT, and in general helping to get resources for the participants in the workshop. Students can chose to participate as well, but this is not required.
Involvement in the workshop can be adjusted to your other commitments, so contact Burt Tilley if you are interested in working in the MPI !!
