GA votes to end mass email regulation

The CORe General Assembly recently approved legislation which alters the policy on mass communication. The new legislation removes all regulation of the students@olin.edu email list and mass communication in general.

CORe has approved a document entitled Communication Suggestions and Guidelines. This outlines the major resources group leaders have for communication in the Olin community, and lists some guidelines for sending mass email. These are only guidelines, and CORe does not intend to directly enforce them for club leaders or anyone else. We will rely on the community self-policing the use of the email lists under the Honor Code. What this means for you is that you no longer need to seek permission from the Vice President of Communication to send more than one email to the students@olin.edu list per semester.

Welcome back to core.olin.edu

After a server meltdown and months out of comission, the CORe Website is back on its feet and better than ever. Take a look around-- this is your guide to all things CORe, as well as a source for news and events at Olin and all of BaBOW. The events calendar pulls from the CORe Digest calendar that live in Exchange Public Folders, so feel free to submit your events from there. I'd also like to point your attention to the committee reps section, as we've just had a massive appointment of new members - keep an eye out for committee reports which should start to arrive as new reps take their posts.

Also check out the club list. We have info on every registered club, including contact info, websites, and mailing lists. Club presidents, please help us keep this section up to date! We also have all of the club policies available in the Club tools section. This section will now be the official place to look for recommendations, advice, and CORe policies.

Thanks for visiting!

Keeping committees up-to-date

So a lot of people have gotten stuck when trying to post to the committee section. We need to get some better documentation, but for now, to make a long story short, just request a new password. Use your full Olin email address: firstname.lastname@students.olin.edu, as your login. You will want to click the "Forgot Password?" box before you write your nice first comment. Hope that clears some things up! Sorry about the confusion.
